winter cold as s%&@

Hello all,

Just thought we would check in to find out if everyone was alive. It has been cold here as I am sure that those of you in the midwest laugh at that statement. We are living back in our home and loving it. I forgot how much fun it was to shovel the driveway at 6am.

I also forgot that Morgan has never made a snow man or person depending what side of the politically correct fence you sit. In any case, we made a gender neutral snowthing.

Morgan usually does not like the snow. We spend 20 minutes getting dresed, 10 seconds outside only to see this face. Then we go inside to have hot chocolate. I love being a father!!!!

Devon on the other hand, on snow days, gets up at sunrise, watches the news, and upon learning that school is closed, calls his friends and is gone. I only see him if the pack eats lunch at the house or if there is injury.

Scholastically, Devon has completed his volcano project. We made the Tonga island main volcano and a cross section of it. Devon felt the Lego boats added to the design. Overall, I think he did a great job on the project.

Morgan, not to be outdone, needed a project of her own. We built this gingerbread house to satify the need.

We hope that everyone is well. We have been complaining during our rebuild and now that it is done, you realize how fortunate you really are. It is the simple things like volcano projects, snowmen, and gingerbread houses that you remember.

Love you all & Happy Holidays,

Dave, Sue, Devon, & Morgan

New England Weather Report

Snow falls on a Sunday morn
in this New England town.

It falls silently, as in
the faltering steps of a newborn kitten.

It falls quietly.

It falls cold, as in
the last gasp of a dying Fall.

It falls bitter, as in
the first breath of oncoming Winter.

It falls white, as in
the forgiven sins of all of us.

It falls deep.

It piles dirty, as in
the unforgiven sins of all of us.

It melts away, as in
the renewal of a new Spring holding hope for us all.
